Yeah, mostly just degeneracy for the sake of degeneracy. Tokyo gay pride parades are really tame, but they are just as proud!

Point is that society has ostracized the gay community for so long they developed their own rituals and the pride parades are a part of that. If we're kids on the playground and you refuse to play with me, I don't have the right to set up my own game and play it my way? And then because you finally realized I wasn't so bad and decide to play with you, you're gonna tell me to stop playing my game?

Gay people are different from straight people, and it's stupid to pretend that they aren't. The point of the parades is to celebrate that difference. Pretending that it doesn't exist is akin to denying who you are.

@tman418 thats not what it says. at all. reread. it says that gay pride parades lend credence to the idea that gays arent normal. he thinks that's why they are stupid, hence he thinks gays are normal. it's an interesting point of view, but gay rights have only gotten this far thanks to the attention and news a gay pride parade brings. and lgtbiq rights aren't fully there yet.
